Troop 604
Web page dedicated to the members of
Lawrenceburg Boy Scout Troop 604
Hi Everyone!
First let me apologize for not being not on the "Ball" with updating this site.
For anyone that knows me and my family, we are in the process of moving.
Assistant Scoutmaster Thornhill aka: Ed. His mother is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. I say suffering because this is something that is not going to go away and continues to worsen...
We become exhausted answering the same questions over and over within a small amount of time, as in seconds... but able to still find ourselves smiling while doing so and laughing at our predicament.
We chose this path when Grandma asked who was sitting next to me. Sitting next to me was her Grandson Ian, our Boy Scout.
That is when we put our life aside and started this never ending task.
I say never ending because when we made the decision in early June, we spent the night with Grandma one evening and have never "left".
We didn't even box things up, we have just transported things in bags and some items I throw in a box because I have needed them asap. We empty the box and then take it back to be filled up.
We are trying, and will hopefully be out before AUG 1st. but it is not likely the way things are NOT progressing.
On a happier note, Ian and Rhiannon Thornhill were Baptized on June 13th!
GOD's Blessings continue to overwhelm us!
I hope to be more with it, this Blogging thing; when school resumes. But for now keep us in your constant prayers, for our sanity, our health, and our family unit!
Sincerely, ruth thornhill

UPDATE!
BOY SCOUT CAMP 2008
Lawrenceburg Boy Scout Troop 604 attended Boy Scout Camp at Camp Friedlander in Loveland, Ohio.
This was these Scouts 2nd time at Boy Scout Summer Camp along with Assistant Scoutmaster Ed Thornhill
Boy Scouts Matthew and Ian have earned their Pottery and Sculpture Merit Badges.
Matthew has earned his Shotgun Merit Badge and Ian earned his Rifle Merit Badge!
Camp Friedlander is known for its "Club MED" atmosphere with Steak Tuesday for Scoutmasters in the Air conditioned dining hall and Eagles Nest for Leaders to check their email and have coffee! Plus the swimming pool was nothing to say no to!
I think this was an appropriate "Vacation" for everyone due to the hard work these men continually put before themselves and accomplish everyday!
As far as pictures go, I will have to unhook a usb cord from one device to the camera... UH, did I say we were in the process of moving? Haha!
And some pictures should be up shortly...
Give me a few days people! :-)
One good thing about camp: Ian has said: "Let's save up for a train trip to California!" It gets the creative juices flowing for the next year of Scouting!
California, we'll see about that! I do know there is a Troop 604 in Monterey Bay California! That would suit me wonderfully!
POPCORN ANYONE?
Yours In Scouting,
Scoutmaster Thornhill

Troop 604 Members:
It is unfortunate that the Troop Meeting will once again have to be XLD for Monday, March 17th.
We have received in the mail today, Saturday, March 15th a notice of the Hoosier Trails Council Program Planning Conference slated to be held: Monday, March 17th, 7:00PM in Seymour, Indiana.
I, Ruth, sit on the Hoosier Hills District Committee as Membership Chair, and Ed is Unit Commissioner for the Troop.
This will give you one last week to make sure you have your Personal First Aid Kits completed for sign off.
The Next Troop Meeting will be during Spring Break: Monday, March 24th, 7PM and will be a game night. You are invited to bring your favorite game that can be played in 1 1/2 hrs. NO VIDEO GAMES! We will have darts, ping pong, Life, Life in Bikini Bottom, Risk, and some others...
If any Scout need something signed off, we can do that then also...
